The Amelia Triangle Scarf uses a simple stitch pattern ( the Seed Stitch ). The seed stitch is crocheted with single crochet stitches and chain spaces. It works up fairly quickly (for single crochet) and it creates a little knit-like stitch (v) in the fabric.
The Amelia Triangle Scarf is crocheted with medium weight yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) hook.
The bright and cheerful yarn I selected to create this design is called Happy. The yarn is beautiful to crochet with and you can purchase it from Lion Brand Yarn (Mandala Ombre Yarn).
Crochet the Amelia Triangle Scarf for yourself or as a gift. The scarf is sure to add a bright pop of color and spread a little bit of Happy wherever it is worn this winter.
This crocheted triangle scarf is worked width-wise, back and forth in rows. We use simple shaping techniques to increase the one side edge of the scarf (2 single crochet stitches in one stitch) to a center point, before using simple decreases (single crochet 2 stitches together) to make the scarf become narrower again at the other end.
The scarf has a fun tassel at each end, which adds a little bit of weight and a little bit of fun to the finished scarf.

Finishing Instructions:
To create Tassels:
These images are from another one of my scarves but the process for the tassels is the same. You can take a look at that free scarf pattern here: Ocean Breeze Scarf Pattern
Make 2
Find, or make a item 4.5 inches wide (you can use cardboard, or cardstock – I used a thin book).
Step 1: Wrap your yarn around the item 50 times. Cut the end at the bottom edge. Cut a second piece of yarn about 10 inches long and tie it securely (I double knotted mine) around the top edge of the yarn strands. Cut the bottom edge of all the yarn strands.
Step 2: Take your yarn end from the yarn ball and tie it approximately 1 to 1.5 inches from the top tie in Step 1.
Step 3: Wrap your yarn 10 times around the spot you tied before cutting the yarn and threading it behind the wraps (into the center of the tassel). Bring it back to the outer edge and tie it to the end you threaded behind the wraps of yarn. Then thread it back behind the wraps again to hide it within the tassel. Trim the ends to make them even.
Assembly
Take your tie (both strands) from Step 1 and thread it on your yarn needle. Using a simple stitch (like a whipstitch) join it to the end of your scarf. I worked into the end of the scarf multiple times to secure the tassels.
Weave in any remaining ends.
