Fantastic Curly Flower
Yarn: Red Heart with Love
Hook: 5.00 mm Affiliate Link: Blackwood Furls Crochet Hook
Abbreviations: R – round, ch – chain, sl st – slip stitch, sc – single crochet, st – stitch, sts – stitches
You are working in continuous spirals, you do not need to slip stitch to join your rounds – unless specifically indicated.
Using Colour 1:
R1: ch 3, sl st to 1st ch to join into a ring
R2: work 8 sc into the ring
R3: 2 sc in each st around, finish off and weave in ends (I use the Invisible Join Technique)
Using Colour 2:
Join colour 2 with a slip stitch join into any stitch from R3.
Note: Depending on your tension/gauge you may wish to work 3 sc in each ch back to the joining st.
Petal 1: *chain 10, starting in the 2nd chain from the hook work 2 sc in each ch back to the joining st, 1 sl st to the same st you started from; 1 sl st in the next st*
Repeat from * to * around until you have 16 petals.
Finish off and weave in ends.

Hi Carol, there is only 1 round of petals. Each petal is made up of a chain 10 and you work 2 stitches into each chain and it creates that loopy petal. In the end you will have 16 petals.
*chain 10, starting in the 2nd chain from the hook work 2 sc in each ch back to the joining st, 1 sl st to the same st you started from; 1 sl st in the next st*
Hope this helps!
Rhondda
One round not on round. Ooops!
Am I missing something? The photos show two rounds of curly petals but I only see on round in the instructions. ??
Hi 🙂 The Petal is repeated 16 times around. This could be considered R4 – although I do not have a R4 listed in the pattern itself. If you join the yarn and complete the first Petal and then repeat the steps 15 more times you will have 16 petals in total. Hope this helps, Rhondda
You mentioned a r4, i dont see it here. it stops at r3 with petal 1. please help
Thank you Amy 🙂 I’m so happy you like my Fantastic Curly Flower pattern!
