A few weeks ago I read about the #scarfie Challenge from Lion Brand Yarns – if you haven’t read about it yet, here is the link to their post:
Lion Brand Wants to See Your Best #Scarfie
I decided to participate – and to design a quick and easy pattern for you to use if you would like to make a scarf too!
This design is super simple. It takes 2-balls of Lion Brand Yarns Thick & Quick Yarn.
The yarn colour I chose is very unique.
It has many lovely strands of metallic colour running through the white.
I loved working with the yarn and I enjoy wearing the scarf.
The scarf is extremely soft and squishy!
This scarf can be worn in many ways – it is very long – easy to wrap and snuggle into on the colder weather days – which we are expecting very soon!
Here is the super easy free pattern!
Yarn: Lion Brand Yarns Thick & Quick Yarn (2 balls)

Hi Kara 🙂 Keep going to the end of Row 2 🙂 It will shape up properly! Videos for my site will be coming this year 🙂 Had a minor setback as I have bronchitis and no ‘voice’ this month!
Hi Julie 🙂 It takes the correct shape after you finish Row 2 🙂 Keep going! The first row can be a bit misleading because of how it looks – it takes the proper v shapes soon!
YES, ME TOO!!! i started today and had to put it down cuz i was getting frustrated. ive just started crocheting in nov. i do better with videos than patterns…just a suggestion 🙂
New to crocheting so please bear with me! What part of the pattern creates the upward part of the zigzag? I started row 1 with the pattern (4sc, 3sc, 4 sc) when I repeat that, it starts to create a triangle. Help!
Hi Mary 🙂 I’m so happy it is working for you and 2 strands of WW is a great idea – it opens up a lot more options for color too!! Thanks so much 🙂 Talk soon, Rhondda
Hi Rhondda, I just wanted to let you know that I did a test/sample of this pattern using a starting chain of 28 (multiple of 9 +1) and it worked out great. I am using the pattern to make scarves for homeless vet. My husband is a member of the VVA and I will be able to give them away through that organization. I needed another pattern that was quick to work up and this one fills that need perfectly. The only change I am making the tye type of yarn. Since I have an over abundance of left over yarn, I am using two strands of worsted weight yarn. That also gives me the option of using coordinating colors to give some interest. I will try to remember to take some pics and forward them to you once they are done. Thanks for the great pattern!
