Rustic Mug Rugs ePattern Review

These six fun Rustic Mug Rugs will make great quick gifts. I think they are also a fantastic way for you to learn and practice some new crochet stitches.

If you want to add a quick pop of color to your neutral home decor, then you can make them in a pretty turquoise color. Or, decorate your outdoor table with a set of mug rugs in bright yellow!

The Rustic Mug Rugs pictured were crocheted in Premier Home Cotton yarn, which is a medium weight cotton yarn [4]. If you are going to crochet all 6 Rustic Mug Rugs, you will need 4 balls of the yarn. You will also need both a 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook and a 6.5 mm (K) crochet hook.

The finished mug rugs measure 7 inches wide by 8.5 inches long, not including the fringe.

The patterns are written in U.S. Crochet Terms. Bold font has been used to emphasize important information and for the row headings.

At the beginning of the pattern, you will find the Pattern Notes for all six Mug Rugs and the instructions for the Special Stitches you will be using. The patterns refer you to the pattern notes and the special stitches when needed. Each pattern includes the stitch totals at the end of the rows.

The Rustic Mug Rug Patterns

Stitch Guide

The basic stitch guide is provided on page 4.  If you need additional help you can check out Annie’s Online Stitch Guide.

  1. Hi Anne, You posted a question about Mesh and Diamond Patterns in the 6 Rustic Mug Rugs book review post. I went into the pattern I have and I cannot find anything about a Mesh or Diamond Mug Rug and I also noticed you are asking a question about knitting and my blog is about Crochet. Did you perhaps leave this comment on the wrong post? or wrong blog?
