Woven Hook Purse
Quick and easy crochet hook purse 🙂
Woven Hook Purse

Materials:
- 1 x 50g Elle Pure Gold Chunky (this yarn only comes in 100g, but I used only about 50g )
Substitutes: STYLECRAFT Special Chunky (94% match); LION BRAND Fun (99% match); BERNAT Chunky (94% match)
- 2 buttons
- Size 5.00 mm
- Yarn Needle
Abbreviations:
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
sc3tog – single crochet 3 stitches together
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
Gauge: Tension/Gauge is not necessary for this project to be perfect
Finished Size:
Final Purse Size – approx 23 cm x 12 cm
Notes:
Woven Stitch is worked on a even numbered foundation chain
Instructions:
CH 40
FOUNDATION ROW: Work 1 SC into the 4th CH from hook, *CH 1, SKIP 1 CH, work 1 SC into next CH, rep from * until end, TURN
ROW 1: CH2, work 1 SC into first CH space, *CH1, work 1 SC into next CH space rep from * until end, TURN
Row 1 forms the pattern
REPEAT ROW 1 UNTIL PIECE MEASURES APPROXIAMTELY 23 CM X 23 CM
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Constructing The Purse:
Fold piece in half and sew the two short sides together
STRAPS:
Rejoin yarn into the TENTH STITCH and work 1 SC into the next 5 STS, TURN
ROW 2 – 5: CH 1, work 1 SC into each ST until end (5 SC), TURN
Note the 2 CH in row 6 forms the button hole!
ROW 6: SC2tog, CH 2, SKIP 1 ST, SC2tog, TURN
ROW 7: CH 1, work 1 SC into next ST, work 1 SC into 2 CH space, work 1 SC into last ST, TURN
ROW 8: SC3tog, CH 1, TURN
SL ST all around STRAP when you reach the tip of the strap CH 3 then SL ST into last ST,
fasten off and weave in ends
Sew on two buttons of choice 🙂
