The Yarn
For this month’s Winter Frost Hat pattern, I used Soft Classic™ Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads®. I don’t know if you’ve tried this yarn yet but if you like 100% acrylic yarn I definitely recommend you take a look at this line of yarns at Michaels. I love the colors that they have available and the price-point is fantastic (in Ontario, Canada as I write this post it is *$4.99 CAD). The ball size is generous too!
Soft Classic™ Solid Yarn by Loops & Threads®
- Medium Worsted Weight Yarn [4]
- 100% Acrylic
- Recommended hook size is 5.5 mm (US I-9)
- Machine wash and dry.
- Color: Ice Blue

Tutorials
Notes
- Stitch multiple of 4
- this project is worked in joined rounds
- Initial ch 3 does NOT count as 1 dc
- Sl st to join: make a slip stitch to join in the first stitch of the round (for rounds with a ch 3 this means the dc following the ch 3).
- the first st of each round is worked in the same st as you made your sl st to join
- to increase the hat height work more repeat rounds.
- If you’d prefer a hat without the brim, follow the pattern as written and work 1 round of single crochet stitches to edge your finished hat.
- A tutorial for the horizontal cluster stitch (hcl) can be found at the end of the pattern.
