Winter Blues Table Mat and Coaster Set

Welcome #CALCentralCrochet ! For my contribution to our Cozy at Home Crochet Along, I am sharing my new free patterns for a solid round crochet table mat and a set of simple crocheted coasters. My Winter Blues Table Mat and Coaster Set Patterns are included at the end of the post.

Winter Blues Table Mat and Coaster Set

These pretty crochet projects are very easy to make. You can crochet them in a solid color, or in alternating colors like I did.

The yarn I used to make these projects was given to me by Yarnspirations. I only used 4 of the mini skeins (20 g each) from the Caron® Little Crafties™ multi-pack to make all 5 projects.

Winter Blues Table Mat and Coaster Set

I love these mini skeins because you get such a wide range of colors all in the same type of yarn. The yarn is Medium Weight [4] and great for small projects, pompoms and yarn crafts. The colors go well together too, so you can make larger projects by using multiple mini skeins.

You can take a look at the full multi pack and all 20 colors included here.

Notes:

Pattern is written with a ch 4, sl st to form a ring to begin. I prefer to use a double magic ring to begin, as it is more secure. Either is acceptable for this pattern.

Pattern is written with a sl st join at the end of each round. I prefer to use an invisible join instead because it is tidier. Either is acceptable for this pattern up to the last round.

Pattern does not have a turning chain for each round because I usually start each new round with a standing st. If you prefer a sl st join and a turning chain, feel free to substitute.

Begin the round in any stitch of the previous round.

If you are working this in wider stripes of color, or in a solid color you may wish to slip stitch to join at the end of each round and ch 3 to begin each round. This will decrease the number of ends you will need to weave in.

Color A: White, Color B: Light Blue, Color C: Medium Blue; Color D: Dark Blue

So, you could keep on going with the pattern sequence/ increases to make it bigger and have it as a huge mandala to hang on your wall. I made one for my BFF and it came out so neat and beautiful!!
