This month for our Crochet Along, I am sharing my Wander Around Casual Striped Beanie Pattern.

This easy to make crochet hat is worked from the top-down, using double crochet stitches.

You can add extra rounds to make this into a slouch hat, or even crochet your hat in a single color of yarn. It’s quick to crochet and suitable for everyone.

To make my Wander Around Casual Striped Beanie you will need light Medium Weight Yarn [4] (also known as light Worsted Weight Yarn) and a 5 mm (H) crochet hook.

Notes:

  • Stitch Multiple: 2
  • I use a DMR (double magic ring) to begin my projects that are worked in rounds. You may substitute a magic ring (magic circle), or a chain 3 and slip to form a ring, if you prefer.
  • I start each new color change round with a standing double crochet st. If you prefer a sl st join and a turning chain, feel free to substitute.
  • If you are using a sl st to join and a turning chain, make your color change on the last yarn over of the joining slip stitch, or use your preferred color change method.
  • I finish off each round with an invisible join. If you prefer you may sl st to join and carry the unused color up the inside of the hat.
  • My colors: Color A: Obsidian, Color B: Festival,  Color C: Orchid
