- Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (sample uses Mistletoe Ombre) Medium Weight Yarn [4]
- Hook: 4.5 mm (7). 4 inch by 4 inch uses a 5 mm (H) Orange Osage Hook.
- Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker (optional)

Abbreviations
US Terminology used

dc – double crochet
R – row/round
RS – right side (aka as the ‘pretty side’ of your work)
rem – remaining
rep – repeat

* – Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain of multiple instructions.

[] – at the end of the row – the total number of stitches
Special Stitches
Triple Stitch or Treble Stitch (tr): Yarn over the hook 2 times. Insert your hook into the specified stitch and yarn over the hook. Pull up 1 loop. You now have 4 loops on the hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook. You now have 3 loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook. You now have 2 loops on your hook. Yarn over the hook and pull through the remaining 2 loops on your hook to complete the stitch.

R1: Ch 24, beg in 2nd ch from hook and work in the back bump of each st across: 1 sc in each, ch 1, turn [23]
R2: 1 sc in the first st, *1 tr in the next st, 1 sc in the next st**. Rep from * to ** across. Ch 1, turn. [23]
R3: 1 sc in each st across, ch 1, turn. [23]
Rep R2 and R3: 10 times more times.
Edging
Turn to work along the side edge. We will work each side of the square as a Row.
R1: Sc 21 times evenly along the side edge and work an additional 3 sc in the corner st. Turn to work along the bottom edge. [24]
R2: 1 sc in each of the next 21 sts and work an additional 3 sc in the corner st. Turn to work along the side edge. [24]
