Featuring the alpine stitch, the Veronica Infinity is textured and cozy. Perfect for wearing wrapped double around your neck. This trendy crochet stitch pattern is made by working front post treble crochet stitches (FPtr) and double crochet stitches (dc) in a simple repeat.

Veronica Infinity Scarf Pattern

Supplies

  • Yarn: Yarnspirations. Red Heart Heat Wave Yarn.  100 g (3.5 oz) and 198 yds (181 m). 100% Acrylic. Medium Weight Yarn [4]. Machine wash and dry. Caution: Do not microwave or expose to high frequencies.
  • Colors: 2 skeins in Seaweed #903-0660, and 1 skein in Sandy Shores E903-0110
  • Hook: 6 mm (J). I used this hook.
  • Finished Project Yardage: Infinity Scarf: 171 g (1.3 oz) / 72 yds (66 m)
  • Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker

Difficulty Level

Easy-Intermediate

Finished Size

Infinity Scarf length approximately 58 inches X 8 inches width

Gauge

Approximately 12 rows per 4 inches (worked in pattern) and 3 sts per inch

You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.

* to **– Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain multiple instructions.

() – important notes AND sets of stitches to be worked within one stitch, or space

Notes:

  • Stitch multiple: chain an odd number of chains + 1 for the turning chain
  • Color A: Seaweed, Color B: Sandy Shores
  • I work in the back bar of the foundation chain because I believe it gives the first row more elasticity. You can work into the back loop of the chain if you prefer.

Veronica Infinity Scarf Pattern Instructions

The Veronica Infinity Scarf is crocheted back and forth in rows, before the side edges are seamed together to form a loop. The top and bottom edges are added in an alternate color after the project has been seamed.

Using your 6 mm (J) hook (or size required for gauge):

R1: With Color A: ch 156, sk the first ch, 1 sc in each rem ch across, ch 1, turn. [155 sc]

R2: 1 sc in the FL of each sc across. Turn. [155 sc]

R3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 FPtr around the sc beneath the next sc (the sc from R1),  sk the sc (from R2). *1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the sc beneath the next sc (the sc from R1), sk the sc (from R2)**. Rep from * to ** across to the last sc. 1 dc in the last sc, turn. [78 dc, 77 FPtr]

R4: Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sk the first st, 1 sc in each dc and in each FPtr across, turn. [155 sc]

R5: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc, sk the sc. *1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc, sk the sc**. Rep from * to ** across to the last sc. 1 dc in the last sc, 1 dc in ch1sp, turn. [79 dc, 76 FPtr]

R6: Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sk the first st, 1 sc in each dc and in each FPtr across, turn. [155 sc]

R7: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc,  sk the sc. *1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc, sk the sc**. Rep from * to ** across to the last sc. 1 dc in the sc, turn. [78 dc, 77 FPtr]

R8: Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sk the first st, 1 sc in each dc and in each FPtr across, turn. [155 sc]

R9: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc, sk the sc. *1 dc in the next sc, 1 FPtr around the dc beneath the next sc, sk the sc**. Rep from * to ** across to the last sc. 1 dc in the sc, 1 dc in ch1sp, turn. [79 dc, 76 FPtr]

R10: Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc), sk the first st, 1 sc in each dc and in each FPtr across, turn. [155 sc]

R11-R18: Rep R7 – R10. 
Finish off after R18, leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn for seaming.

Finishing Instructions for the Main Infinity Scarf

Using a whipstitch, seam the 2 side edges together to create a loop.  Weave in any remaining ends.

Top and Bottom Edgings
The edgings are worked in continuous rounds. With the RS (right side) of your working facing you:

Round 1: Join Color B yarn in the stitch beside the seam you created. 1 sc in each sc around. [155 sc]

Round 2: 1 sc in the BL of each st around. Finish off with an invisible join. 

Follow the same process to create the second edge of the project.

Finishing Instructions for the Edgings

Weave in any remaining ends.
