The garment types included are straight-up and tapered body styles in five different length options:

  1. Cropped length, Tapered
  2. High-hip length, No taper
  3. Low-hip length, No taper
  4. Fingertip length, Tapered
  5. Long length, Tapered

These options are explained on pages 8-9.

Throughout The New Knitter’s Template you will see FAQ sections – with questions and answers to frequently asked questions. These sections are clearly marked and very easy to find and have extra tips which are extremely helpful!

Page 12 explains the different body and neckline styles and page 13 addresses different sleeve and armhole styles. Suggested yarn yardages are available based on style, size and gauge reached – these are available on page 21. These yardages are recommendations only as a number of factors can alter the amount of yarn you will need to make your garment.

How to take proper body measurements is addressed by each specific measurement you need to take and a handy Body Measurement Chart is provided to allow you to keep a record of specific measurements for anyone you choose to measure for a garment.

Finished Measurement Charts are provided based on Bust/Chest Sizes ranging from 30″ to 60″. These measurements are extremely helpful and include armhole depths, necklines, sleeve lengths, back neck widths and shoulder widths. A Blank Pattern Worksheet is provided next and then style diagrams.

The different style options are discussed and include shell, short-sleeve top, long-sleeve pullover, classic or updated cardigan, tailored jacket and coat.

This is a fantastic book for Knitters who wish to customize designs, or dabble at creating their own garments. This is also a tremendous resource for Designers.
