Taylor Star Stitch Hat Pattern

Here’s how it works.
My Taylor Star Stitch Hat Pattern was designed using the Five Star Marguerite Stitch, also known as the Star Crochet Stitch. This pattern is available in sizes Baby to Adult and is crocheted in the round, from the top-down.
The 5 Star Marguerite Stitch is worked on a 2 row repeat and I have modified it slightly to work in the round.
I have included a photo tutorial at the end of the post to assist you with the stitch. It is really quite simple, just a matter of knowing where to place your crochet hook.
For this project you will need Medium Weight Yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) hook. I used 2 different colors of Red Heart with Love Yarn to make my 2 sample hats.
Have fun crocheting!
As always if you find an error, typo or have a question, please feel free to leave me a comment on the post.

Notes:
- Star Stitch multiple: 2 (Understanding Stitch Multiples)
- The initial ch-3 does not count as a stitch
- The sl st does not count as a stitch
- Make your sl st tightly
- Not sure where to make your slip stitch for the Star Stitch Pattern rounds? View the photo tutorials here and here.
- The turning ch-1 does not count as a stitch and we do not work into it
- You may customize the hat height by working the repeat as many, or as few, times as you wish. Every 5 rounds you add with the stitch pattern, will add approximately 2-inches of height to the hat.
- If you would like to add a little bit more height to the hat, work an additional round (or two) of sc in the back loop only.
- I use an invisible join to finish off my final round of stitches, you may substitute a sl st to join if you prefer.

Hi Mary, I filmed one today for this and will try to add it to the tutorial post next week. Hope this helps, Rhondda https://oombawkadesigncrochet.com/marguerite-stitch-5-pointed-star-stitch/
Hi, Do you have a video for crocheting the Marguerite 5 star cluster? Thank you.
I love your patterns ❤️ especially your Native American pieces. The Granada is my favorite.
I’ve made a few of your hats and love your easy to follow patterns. Thanks for the contest 🤞🏼
