Happy July Crocheters! Here are your July Scarf of the Month Club 2019 Scarf Patterns. This month I used yarn from my stash (yarn I’ve been saving because I love it so much but didn’t know what to do with it!) to make my pattern. You will need 224 yds (205 m) of DK Weight Yarn to crochet the Sweet Cassidy Scarf Pattern. Scroll to the end of this post for the full written pattern.

- Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Zara Chiné. 1.75 oz (50 g) and 136.5 yds (125 m). 100% Lana Extra Fine Merino Superwash. DK Weight Yarn [3]. Machine Wash at or below 40°C
- Colors: 1 skein in Color 1927
- Hook: 4 mm (G). I used this hook.
- Finished Project Yardage: 2.87 oz (82 g) / 224 yds (205 m)
- Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker

Approximately 2 rows per inch and 5 sts per inch
You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.

- RS: mark the RS of your project so you know where it is. This will help you when we reach the second tail of the scarf.
- Stitch multiple is 4 + 1, plus 2 for the foundation chain
Sweet Cassidy Scarf Pattern Instructions
The scarf is crocheted back-and-forth in rows. We will reattach the yarn in the WS (wrong side) of scarf at the beginning edge to create the tail for the second side.
Using your 4 mm (G) hook (or size required for gauge) and leaving a 4 inch yarn tail:
R1: RS: Ch 31, sk the first 4 chs (the skipped 4 chs count as 1 dc and 1 sk ch), (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the 5th ch from the hook. *Sk the next 3 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 2 chs, sk the next ch, 1 dc in the last ch. Turn. [30 dc, 7 ch1sp]
R2-R50: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Turn. [30 dc, 7 ch1sp]
R51: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 2 dc, 1 sl st in the space bef the next dc, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Turn. R61: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 2 dc, 1 slst in the space bef the next dc, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Turn. R62: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Sk all rem sts. Turn. [6 dc, 1 ch1sp]
R63: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc. [7 sc]
Rotate your work to crochet down the side edge for the edging.
Edging Instructions
Working under 1 loop of each of side edge stitches and starting ch.
Edging Side A: *Ch 3, 1 sl st in the next row end**. Rep from * to ** along the side edge to the bottom corner. [63 sl st, 63 ch3sp]
Rotate your work to crochet across the unworked loops of the beginning chain row.
Edging Side B: Ch 3, 1 dc in the first ch. Sk 1 ch, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch. *Sk 3 chs, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 2 chs. Sk 1 ch, 1 dc in the last dc. Ch 3 and work 1 sl st to the base of the last dc you worked. [32 dc, 7 ch1sp]
Rotate your work to crochet up the other side edge.
Edging Side C: *Ch 3, 1 sl st in the next row end**. Rep from * to ** along the side edge to the top corner. Finish off. [63 sl st, 63 ch3sp]
Second Tail Instructions
You will be rejoining your yarn on the WS (wrong side of the scarf) where you completed Edging Side B.
R1: Join with a sl st in the space bet the 5th and 6th dc. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the ch1sp. * Sk 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk 2 dc, 1 dc and 1 tr in the last dc. Turn. [1 tr, 26 dc, 1 sl st, 6 ch1sp]
R2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next st, sk 2 dc (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the ch1sp. *Sk 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Turn. [27 dc, 6 ch1sp]
R3: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 2 dc, 1 slst in the space bef the next dc, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc and 1 tr in the last dc. Turn. R4: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in the next st, sk 2 dc (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the ch1sp. *Sk 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk 2 dc, 1 dc in the last dc. Sk all rem sts. Turn. [23 dc, 5 ch1sp]
R5: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 2 dc, 1 slst in the space bef the next dc, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next 2 dc. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp. *Sk the next 4 dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in the next ch1sp**. Rep from * to ** across to the last 3 dc, sk the next 2 dc, 1 dc and 1 tr in the last dc. Turn. R13: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in each of the next 3 dc. Sl st to the side of the ch 3 at the end. Finish off. [8 sc]
Finishing Instructions:
Weave in all remaining ends.
Wet block if desired (I did not block my project).
