Crochet the March Madness Hat in Any Size! Free Pattern
The Yarn
For this month’s Crochet Club Patterns, I used King Cole Celestial Super Chunky Weight Yarn. This 99% acrylic yarn (the polyester sparkle strand makes up the other 1% of the yarn) is soft, warm and the perfect choice for winter and fall wearables.

There are quite a few shade options available in this yarn line.
See the other shades that are available in this collection here.

Helpful Tutorial
Notes:
- Multiple of 1
- If you’d like to increase the hat height, work more repeat rounds.
- The hat is worked in continuous rounds without joining.
- When slip stitches are worked (for the hat brim) they are not counted as stitches and we do not work into them.
- Omit the buttons for the baby sizes. You can embroider or add a hand sewn embellishment in their place that is baby-safe.
- Photo tutorials follow the pattern below.
