Special Stitches
dc5tog worked as a cluster stitch – this dc5tog is worked to create a cluster rather than to decrease 5 stitches to 1 stitch. The easiest way to remember how to make this is to complete each of the 5 double crochet stitches to the last yarn over and then with all five of them sitting there on your hook – yarn over and pull through the 6 loops on the hook to finish the stitch.
dc5tog: Yarn over the hook and insert hook into the specified stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loop on your hook. *Yarn over the hook; insert hook into the same stitch. Yarn over and pull up 1 loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook** Rep from * to ** 3 more times. You now have 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops to finish the stitch.
Part 1: Yarn over the hook, insert the hook into the specified stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop.
Part 2: Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook.
You now have 2 loops on your hook.
Part 3: Yarn over the hook and insert the hook into the same stitch. Yarn over and pull up 1 loop.
Part 4: Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook.
You now have 3 loops on your hook.
Part 5: Yarn over the hook and insert the hook into the same stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop.
Part 6: Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook.
You now have 4 loops on your hook.
Part 7: Yarn over and insert your hook into the same stitch, yarn over and pull up 1 loop.
Part 8: Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook. You now have 5 loops on your hook.
Part 9: Yarn over the hook and insert the hook into the same stitch. Yarn over and pull up 1 loop.
Part 10: Yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on the hook.
Part 11: Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on the hook.

R1: Ch 21, beg in the 2nd ch from the hook (RS) : 1 sc in each st across, turn [20]
R2: Ch 1, sk the first sc, 1 sc in the next st. *Dc5tog in the next st. 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts.** Rep from * to ** across to the last 2 sts; dc5tog in the next st, 1 sc in the last st, 1 sc in the skipped ch from R1. Turn. [20]
R3: Ch 1, sk the first st, 1 sc in each rem st across. 1 sc in the ch 1. Turn. [20]
