Here’s how it works.
Make this easy-to-crochet catch all basket for small items like your keys. Featuring the baby bean stitch, the Small Catch All Basket is crocheted using 2 strands of raffia yarn held together. This will also make a great stash buster project because you can alternately substitute 2-strands of your favorite medium weight yarn held together.

Supplies
- Yarn: 2 strands of Premier Home Raffia Yarn Multis. Color: Sunshine Medium Weight Yarn [4]. 1.23 oz/35 g, 87 yds/80m. 100% Cellulose Rayon. Hand Wash, Lay Flat to Dry.
You can substitute 2 strands of your preferred Medium Weight Yarn [4] held together. Your basket will be slightly smaller due to the difference in gauge between the raffia and medium weight yarn but you can simply increase the number of rounds you work to reach your desired height, or to make your basket 3.5 inches tall work until you have completed 15 rounds.
- The tutorial shows 2 strands of Red Heart Super Saver yarn; [5 oz (141g) / Approx. 236 yds (215m)]. Colors: Peridot and Topaz. The tutorial was written for the Stash Basket Free Pattern which is a smaller pattern (less rounds of stitches).
- Hook: 6 mm (J) Clover Amour Crochet hook
- Finished Project Yardages: 1.90 oz/54 g; 135 yds/124 m in Raffia Yarn; 2.6 oz/71 g; 119 yds/109 m in Red Heart Super Saver Yarn.

Notes
- This project is worked with 2-strands of yarn held together. You may also choose to substitute a bulky weight yarn instead of the 2-strands of medium weight yarn.
- If you are substituting medium weight yarn please continue working repeats of R8 until you have completed 15 rounds in total. This will create a basket with the same height as the Raffia basket.
- This project is worked in continuous rounds until R9 and then it is worked in joined rounds where you turn at the end of each. I recommend you use a stitch marker to mark your place. We do not chain additional stitches or slip stitch to join at the end of the round unless it is specifically written.
- A photo tutorial is included at the end of the post for the baby bean stitch. It is demonstrated in medium weight yarn.
