Teddy Bear Baby Cocoons, #111. Review

Swaddle baby up in a super adorable baby cocoon. With multiple options to choose from, and instructions included for a variety of sizes, these Teddy Bear Baby Cocoons patterns will help you create a perfect baby shower gift!
These crocheted baby cocoons can be crocheted quickly, especially the one-color version. So if you are looking for a last minute gift, pick your favorite baby colored yarn and crochet the one-color version of the Teddy Bear Baby Cocoon.
If you have a little more time on your hands, you can opt to make the two-color version.
The patterns include directions for doll/preemie, newborn to 3 months, small, medium and large sizes. Written directions and graphs are included for the 2-teddy bear and 3-teddy bear single color versions.  Please note, the 2-teddy bear and 3-teddy bear two color versions only include color graphs (no written instructions).
The technique used to create these adorable baby cocoons is explained in Carol’s helpful step-by-step video tutorial. The dropped double crochet technique is so much easier than you would think so be sure to pop by and take a look at Carol’s video if you are unsure if you are ready to learn a new method of crocheting.

The entire pattern uses only single crochet stitches worked in the back loop of a stitch, and double crochet stitches worked in a remaining front loop of a stitch from 2 rounds before. This technique is similar to a ldc — long double crochet — but it is worked in the remaining front loop, not around the post of the stitch.

The project is worked in joined rounds and it is important that you read the Special Instructions for Joining included on page 2 as it includes very helpful information to help you keep your seam straight and your stitches lined up.
