Preemie Size Hope Hat
Hook: 5.00 mm (H)
Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn)
Gauge: (2 hdc in the first st space, 1 hdc in the next st, skip the next st) per inch and 3 rows per inch
Abbreviations: R : round, ch : chain, st : stitch, sts : stitches, sl st : slip stitch, hdc : half double crochet, fphdc : front post half double crochet, bphdc : back post half double crochet, x : number of times to repeat instructions in brackets

R1: 8 hdc in magic ring [8]
R2: 2 hdc in each st around [16]
R3: (1 hdc in the first st, 2 hdc in the next st) 8 x [24]
R4: (1 hdc in the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next st) 6 x, 1 hdc in each remaining st around [30]
R5: (skip the first st, 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st) 10 x [30]
R6: (2 hdc in the first st space, 1 hdc in the next st, skip the next st) around [30]
R7: 2 hdc in the first st, 1 hdc in the next st, skip the next st, (2 hdc in the first st space, 1 hdc in the next st, skip the next st) around [30]
R8: (2 hdc in the first st space, 1 hdc in the next st, skip the next st) around [30]
R9*: repeat R8 [30]
