My friend Jen, of Jam Made asked me to help test her new beanie pattern.

This unique design by Jam Made is: Petals and Posts Beanie and it is available for purchase through Jen’s Craftsy store.
It is a very lovely and well designed pattern. I am a bit newer to working post stitches but after crocheting this hat I have figured out the trick to the stitches (I think!).
I always become confused by which stitch the “post” belongs to…I’m not sure why I have trouble with that – but I do and I seem to have a wee bit of a mental block when it comes to figuring it out.
The way Jen wrote the pattern cleared this up for me. I had no doubt which stitch I needed to work into.
You must pay close attention to the increase rounds and keep track of your stitches in order for the design to take shape. There really is no way to ‘fudge’ this pattern if you crochet into the wrong stitch…
Jen was able to create a lovely flower design using post stitches on the crown of the hat. I’ve really never seen any other design quite like this.
Here is my finished hat 🙂
Do you struggle with post stitches?
