Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL – Part 6
Supplies
- Yarn: Red Heart Soft (Color A: Off White, B: Dark Leaf, C: Wine)
- Hook 5.5 mm (I)
- Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker (optional)

this section will add approximately 3 inches height

approximately 3 sc per inch
Abbreviations
US Terminology used
beg – beginning
ch – chain
CL – cluster stitch (see special stitches below)
dc – double crochet
R – row/round
RS – right side (aka as the ‘pretty side’ of your work)
rem – remaining
rep – repeat
sc – single crochet
shell – (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the specified stitch or space
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
st/sts – stitch/stitches
* – Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain of multiple instructions.
() – Repeat the instructions between the parentheses the number of times indicated.
[] – at the end of the row – the total number of stitches
Special Stitches
CL – cluster stitch – *Yarn over the hook and insert the hook into the specified stitch. Yarn over and pull up one loop to the approximate height of a double crochet stitch.** Rep from * to ** 4 times. You will have 9 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all 9 loops to complete the cluster stitch.
Shell – (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the specified stitch or space
Notes
- A multiple of 3 stitches is used for this stitch pattern. The instructions below are specific to the Wonder Crochet Blanket with 165 stitches.
Pattern Instructions
R1: RS: Color A: 1 sc in each st across, ch 1, turn. [165]
R2: 1 sc in each st across. Finish off. Turn to begin R3.[165]
R3: RS: Color B: Join with a sl st in the first sc. Ch 4 (this counts as 1 dc and 1 ch1sp). Sk 1 more sc. (Note: You will begin in the fourth sc.) 1 shell in the next sc. *Sk each of the next 2 sc, 1 shell in the next sc**. Rep from * to ** across 53 times; you will have 2 sc rem. Sk 1 sc. 1 dc in the last sc. Finish off. Do NOT turn. [54 shells, 2 dc, 1 ch1sp]
R4: RS: Color C: Join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the ch 4. Ch 4 (this counts as 1 dc and 1 ch1sp). *1 CL in the ch1sp (in the center of the next shell), ch 2**. Rep from * to ** across 52 times; you will have 1 shell rem. 1 CL in the ch1sp (in the center of the last shell), ch 1, 1 dc in the final dc. Finish off. Do NOT turn. [54 CL, 2 dc, 53 ch2sp, 2 ch1sp]
R5: RS: Color A: Join with a sl st in the 3rd ch of the ch 4. Ch 1. 1 sc in the same st. 1 sc in the ch1sp. *1 sc in the CL, 2 sc in the ch2sp**. Rep from * to ** across 53 times; you will have 1 CL rem. 1 sc in the CL, 2 sc in the ch1sp, 1 sc in the dc. Ch 1, turn. [165 sc]
