Yarn: Oombawkalicious DK Supersquish Yarn from Celestial Strings 100% Superwash merino. 220 yards/100 grams.
Hook: 5.00 mm Furls Blackwood Crochet Hook
Gauge: 16 sts in 4 inches, 10 rows in pattern in 4 inches
Finished Length: ~74″
Finished Width: 4.75″
Stitch Multiple: multiples of 2 (add 2 for the base chain)
Abbreviations: Xdc – crossed double crochet (see Special Stitches), st – stitch, sts – stitches, ch – chain, chs – chains, dc – double crochet, sc – single crochet, R – row
Special Stitches:
Crossed Double Crochet Stitch (Xdc): this stitch is worked over 2 sts: skip the next st, 1 dc in the next st, now go back to the skipped st and work 1 dc – this creates an “X” or, a Crossed Double Crochet Stitch. For a photo tutorial please visit this link: Crossed Double Crochet Stitch Tutorial
Chain 22
R1 (right side): Skip 3 chs (these 3 chs count as a dc st), Xdc across to the last ch (you will have 9 Xdc stitch sets), 1 dc in the last ch of the row, ch 1, turn
R2: Skip the 1st st, 1 sc in each st across, remember to work 1 sc in the turning chain at the end of the row, ch 3, turn
R3: Skip the 1st st, Xdc across (you will have 9 Xdc stitch sets), remember to work 1 dc in the turning chain at the end of the row, ch 1, turn
Repeat R2 and R3 – 86 times
Line up the two ends (the beginning Chain 22 row and the final row), flip wrong sides together and sl st across to join into an infinity scarf – or if you prefer leave the ends unjoined and you have one very long and lovely scarf!
