Hi crocheters! I’m excited to share my Makers Convertible Basket Bag Pattern with you today. This is a project I’ve been wanting to make for myself, and I’m so happy I finally got the chance to create it as part of the Gift to Myself CAL. This easy crochet pattern works as a small project basket or a handy project bag you can take with you wherever you go.

I made this one for myself because life is super busy with my two teens! They’re involved in so many school and extra activities during the week, and I’m running around every day to get them where they need to go. This little basket is perfect for keeping me organized while I wait through basketball practice, flag football, soccer, music, and horseback riding. It’s so much nicer than using a reusable shopping bag and makes it easier to crochet on the go with my yarn and hook.

Make your own Makers Convertible Basket with this free crochet pattern! Perfect for keeping your yarn and hooks organized at home or on the go.

I hope that some of you choose to make this project. There are some additional supplies needed to make this project and I have included them in the supplies section of my post. I was really excited to be able to choose items that would make my basket bag unique – the extra support from the canvas inner bag and all the pockets is ideal for supplies like stitch markers, scissors (no popping through the bag fabric to poke me) and crochet hooks. The durable fabric and drawstring closure keep my project neat and tidy and stop bits and bobs from falling out when I’m on the go. I hope you enjoy making your basket bag and love the little bag insert I chose from Amazon as much as I do!

My little workbasket was meant to have cute little basket handles but I haven’t received them yet in the mail. Once they arrive I will add them to the basket and add a photo for you to see them – I thought it would be a handy way to carry the basket with my WIP in it when I’m at home. I can’t wait until they arrive!

  • Add the basket handles to the crocheted bag cover (I will add this once my Hobbii bag handles arrive!).
