• Colors: Lemon Curd (24526), Cobalt (25513) and Snowshoe (24532)
• Hook: 5.5 mm (I) Furls Streamline Swirl Cherry.  (affiliate link)
• Finished Project: 0-3 months Hat (Lemon Curd): 1.4 oz (39 g) and 64 yds (58.5 m), Teen Hat (Cobalt): 3.2 oz (92 g) and  150 yds (138 m), Adult Medium Hat (Snowshoe): 3.6 oz (102 g) and 167 yds (153 m).

You can substitute any yarn and hook for this stitch pattern – just remember when you substitute if your gauge is different, the finished size, and amount of yarn used for your project will also be different.

Special Stitches

Puff Stitch (puff st)

Yarn over the hook, insert your hook into the specified stitch (or chain space), yarn over and pull up a loop to the height of a double crochet. *Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch (or chain space), pull up a loop to the height of a double crochet**. Work from * to ** 3 times. Yarn over and pull through all 9 loops on the hook, to complete the stitch.

• You may customize the hat height by working the repeat as many, or as few, times as you wish. Every 1 round you add with the stitch pattern, will add approximately 0.75 inch of height to the hat. 
• If you would like to add a little bit more height to the hat, work an additional round (or two) of sc in the back loop only. 
• I use an invisible join to finish off my final round of stitches, you may substitute a sl st to join if you prefer.

Rnd 1: DMR: Ch 3 (does not count as a stitch), 12 dc, sl st to the first st to join. [12 dc]

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (does not count as a stitch). 2 dc in each st around.  Sl st to the first st to join. [24 dc]

Rnd 3: Ch 3 (does not count as a stitch). *2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts**. Work from * to ** around. Sl st to the first st to join. [30 dc]

Rnd 4: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch). *1 puff st in the next st, ch 1, sk the next st**. Work from * to ** around. Sl st to the first st to join. [15 puff st, 15 ch1sp]

Rnd 5-Rnd 6: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch). *Sk the next puff st, 1 puff st in the next ch1sp, ch 1**. Work from * to ** around. Sl st to the first st to join. [15 puff st, 15 ch1sp]
