OMG!!! I’m so in love with this hat!!!Norah Hat Pattern Because of your color choice and how it covers the ears!!!! Not only is it beautiful but very functional!!! Girl, you did it!!! Thank you so much for the free pattern!! You have the gift of color!!
Hi Heather, What yarn and hook are you using? I wonder if I have any here so I can see what I need to do for the pattern to make it work for you? Let me know when you have time! All the best, Rhondda
thanks Rhondda for reply. My second hat turned out almost the same too small for even a two year old. I am trying to get the exact yarn which is not available in Michaels or Walmart Toronto. Will try and get from U.S.A. This is such an nice pattern, I just will try again. Best wishes for the season.
thanks f
Hi Heather, it sounds like you getting too many stitches per inch for your gauge. I would go up at least 1 hook size. Based on the numbers you gave me, you crocheted the child size so 30 stitches and reached a circumference of 12.5 inches. This means you have approximately 2.52 stitches in every inch. For my gauge I achieve 1.57 stitches in an inch. So to make it work you would need to crochet looser – which is hard to do so I would go up at least 1 hook size and see if that helps you reach approximately 1.5 stitches in an inch. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you – it really is a very easy hat once we match our gauges! All the best, Rhondda
I’ve just. Done this in child’s size and used a super chunky Caron cake and 10 mm needle. Alas I’ve ended up with a newborn hat. What did I do wrong? My hat was 5 .5 inches length and 12.5 inches around.
