Meet Lena from TheMailoDesign
My name is Lena, I’m from Latvia, and I’m addicted to crochet as much as you. I’ve been crocheting since I remember myself, but the idea about creating patterns and learning classes came to me only after my first childbirth. Many ideas about crochet designs come to my mind during the nighttime while getting the baby to sleep, all moms will understand what I mean 🙂 My main goal is to create modern and stylish crochet garments using simple stitches. As a result, even beginners will be able to create a beautiful piece of clothing. On Instagram, www.instagram.com/themailodesign you can find free and paid patterns created by me, crochet tips and tricks, video tutorials, and other crochet-related posts. The Pattern
The design of No Name Sweater is a bottom-up crochet sweater and it’s one of my favorites, because it’s very comfortable on warmer days, and it perfectly goes with cuffed jeans, leggings, or faux leather leggings. If you like simple and comfortable clothing, this sweater design is for you.

No Name Sweater Pattern Instructions
This is a bottom-up, drop shoulder sweater and it is made from a front panel, a back panel, and a panel for each of the sleeves. We will start from ribbing of the front panel.
Using your 5 mm (H) hook (or size required for gauge):
No Name Sweater Front Panel
Front Ribbing
Row 1: 15 ch, starting from the 3rd ch from the hook, make hdc in each ch across, turn. [13 hdc]
Row 2: 2 ch, hdc tlo across, turn. [13 hdc tlo]
See Special Stitches Section above for photo tutorial for hdc tlo
Rep Row 2 until you have 55 rows in total, or until the front ribbing measures 20 inches long (52 cm long).
Now we will start the body of the sweater.
Front Panel of Sweater
The body of the sweater is crocheted directly into the ribbing.
Row 1: 1 ch, sc across the edge of the ribbing section, turn. [85 sc]
TIP: You will be working 3 sc for every 2 row ends, plus 2 sc for the last row end.
Row 2: 1 ch, *6 sc, 2 sc in one st, repeat from * until the last st, 1 sc in the last st, turn. [97 sc]
Useful Tip: If in the last row the number of stitches is not divisible by 12+1, then make one more sc row and make a correction by adding or decreasing to the necessary number of stitches.
HOW DO I KNOW? Take the total number of stitches you have from Row 2, subtract 1 and then divide by 12 to check if the number of stitches you have can by divided the pattern repeat.
Main Body
Row 1: 3 ch (in all rows counts as stitch), 2 dc in the same st, 3 ch, skip 4, 3dctog, 3 ch, skip 4, *5 dc in one st, 3 ch, skip 4, 3dctog, 3 ch, skip 4, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 3 dc in last st.
Row 2: 3 ch, 1 dc, 2 dc in one st, *2 ch, skip chains, 1 dc in 3dctog from the previous row, 2 ch, skip chains, 2 dc in one st, 3 dc, 2 dc in one st, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 2 dc in one st, 2 dc.
Row 3: 3 ch, 1 dc, 2dctog, *3 ch, skip chains 1 dc, 3 ch, skip chains, 2dctog, 3 dc, 2dctog, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 2dctog, 2 dc.
Row 4: 3 ch, 2dctog, *3 ch, skip chains, 1 dc, 3 ch, skip chains, 2dctog, 1 dc, 2dctog, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 2dctog, 1 dc.
Row 5: 3 ch, 2 dc in the same st, *3 ch, skip chains, 5 dc in one dc from the previous row, 3 ch, skip chains, 3dctog, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 3 dc in last st.
Row 6: 3 ch, 1 dc, 2 dc in one st, 2 ch, skip chains, 2 dc in one st, 3dc, 2 dc in one st, 2ch, skip chains, 1 dc in 3dctog from the previous row, 2 ch, skip chains, repeat from until the end of the row, finish with 2 dc in one st, 2 dc.
Row 7: 3 ch, 1 dc, *2dctog, 3 ch, skip chains, 2 dctog, 3dc, 2dctog, 3 ch, skip chains, 1 dc, 3 ch, skip chains, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 2dctog, 2 dc.
Row 8: 3 ch, 2dctog, 3ch, skip chains, *2dctog, 1 dc, 2dctog, 3 ch, skip chains, 1 dc, 3 ch, skip chains, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 2dctog, 1 dc
Row 9: 3 ch, 2 dc in the same st, 3 ch, skip chains, *3dctog, 3 ch, skip chains, 5 dc in one dc from the previous row, 3 ch, skip chains, repeat from * until the end of the row, finish with 3 dc in last st.
Repeat rows 2 – 9 until you have 10 full leaves and a partial 11th leaf. The 11th leaf is complete, except for the last repeat of Row 9.
Before you start the last row of 11 leave put 2 markers as shown in the picture
Start this row as usual until the first marker after 2 ch, slip stitch in each stitch till the second marker, then continue as usual until the end of the row.
The front panel is complete!
No Name Sweater Back Panel
The back panel is similar, just longer – a total of 13 leaves. Repeat the Front Panel instructions to make your back panel with 13 leaves.
Sew both panels as shown in the picture.
No Name Sweater Sleeves
We will start from the ribbing of the sleeves.
Ribbing
Row 1: 22 ch, starting from the 3rd ch from the hook make hdc in each ch across, turn. [20 hdc]
Row 2: 2 ch, hdc tlo across, turn. [20 hdc tlo]
Ribbing length – your wrist circumference + 1 inch (2 cm)
Sleeve Panel
The sleeve panel is crocheted directly into the ribbing.
Row 1: 1 ch, sc across the edge of the ribbing section, turn. [33 sc]
Row 2: 1 ch, *1 sc, 2 sc in one st, repeat from *until the last st, sc in the last st, turn. [49 sc]
Remember that the main pattern repeat is 12 + 1, count stitches, if necessary make one more sc row, add or decrease the necessary number of stitches. In my work 48 + 1 st.
Continue sleeve with the same pattern as for the Main Body of Sweater.
Make first increase: instead of 2 ch, make 3 ch in all next rows.
Next increase in one row before the last row of 4th leaf (Row 8 of the main pattern): 3 ch, 2dctog, 3 ch, 1 dc in the middle of ch space, 3 ch, *2dctog, 1 dc, 2dctog, 3 ch, skip chains, 1dc, 3ch, skip chains, repeat from the *till the last ch space, 3 ch, 1 dc in the middle of ch space, 3 ch, 2dctog, 1 dc.
Continue your sleeve till the necessary length
Make the second sleeve and sew your work as it is shown in the pictures.
Finishing Instructions:
Weave in ends.
Block lightly as desired.
