Here’s how it works.

Kara, of Petals to Picots is hosting a fun Nesting Dolls CAL (crochet-a-long) on her blog!  You all know how much I love participating in CALs 🙂  So I of course decided to take part.
Each week we are crocheting a different size in the “Stitchy Nesting Dolls” pattern.  You can find the details of the CAL on Kara’s blog.
The pattern is from the book Crochet at Home: 25 Clever Projects for Colorful Living. By:  Bara, B. (2013). Interweave Press.  Kara received permission from Interweave Press to share the pattern and to host the CAL on her blog.
This specific pattern is called “Stitchy Nesting Dolls” by Designer Amy Gaines.

Here is my first matryoshka doll –
I wanted to use some of my stash yarn for this CAL.  I have an abundance of the heavier worsted weight yarn so I substituted a 4mm hook for the pattern.
I also did not have any pink felt in my stash so I used white felt and one of my Stampin’ Up ink pads to colour it –
Please forgive my sad embroidery skills – it was my ‘first’ time!!  😉
I am quite pleased with this little lady 🙂
…and both my Littles want it.   They love the idea that they can hide things inside this little person!
There is still time to take part in this CAL if you are interested 🙂
