Nature’s Landscapes Crochet Blankets

Nature’s Landscapes Crochet Blankets includes 4 scenic crochet landscapes designed by Christine Naugle. Each afghan is crocheted with Medium (Worsted) Weight Yarn.

These patterns include a variation of a crochet stitch that I have never used before. I love how it allows the stitches to align directly atop each other in a straight vertical line. I am very intrigued by this and I believe it will be used in many colorwork crochet projects in the future.

The beginning of each pattern is provided as written instructions and because only one stitch is used for the majority of the blanket, the remainder of the instructions are included in the Color Charts for each design.

Nature’s Landscapes Crochet Blanket Patterns

  • Mountain River | INTERMEDIATE | 41 inches wide X 52 inches long | Medium Weight Yarn [4] | 5 mm (H) and 6.5 mm (K) crochet hooks
  • Desert Skies | INTERMEDIATE | 46 inches wide X 58 inches long | 5 mm (H) and 6.5 mm (K) crochet hooks
  • Blue Mountain Lakes | INTERMEDIATE | 46 inches wide X 58 inches long | 5 mm (H) and 6.5 mm (K) crochet hooks
  • Purple Mountain Majesty | INTERMEDIATE | 50 inches wide X 62 inches long | 5 mm (H) and 6.5 mm (K) crochet hooks

These patterns are written in U.S. crochet terms. Stitch counts are included for each row of the project.

A detailed Stitch Tutorial is included beginning on page 2 and shows you how to make the following stitches:

  • Foundation Half Double Crochet
  • Knotted Half Double Crochet (Khdc)

The Knotted Half Double Crochet stitch makes the stitches align perfectly straight on top of each other. This creates a very smooth transition for color changes and a truly pretty finished design.

Written instructions for the Special Stitches are included at the beginning of every pattern.

Stitch Guide

The stitch guide is located on page 31 and includes both written instructions and diagrams for common crochet stitches and techniques.

I love all four of these nature inspired crochet blankets.

If I had to choose just one though, my favorite blanket design is:

  • Desert Skies

You can see all the projects here.

Which one is your favorite?
