Meet Mr. Murasaki the Owl! You can make him too with the Mr. Murasaki Pattern from AmiguruMEI.

I am slowly working my way through my list of projects to complete. This one is a request from my Mom. I first saw this pattern on CraftPassion – and you can visit AmiguruMEI to see her other fabulous creations.

It was a super quick and easy pattern to follow – in fact it came with me on my weekend away with my Sisters and Mom.

Once a year we go for a “Girl’s Weekend” – this year we went to Collingwood, Ontario – to the Blue Mountain area – it rained almost the entire time but that forced us to ‘rest and relax’ rather than allowing us to try to cram as much into the weekend as we could – so I think it was a nice change 🙂

I was able to finish up my Mom’s Mr. Murasaki Owl – while watching a movie my sister brought called The Heat – it was a very cosy way to spend a rainy afternoon 🙂

For my Mom’s Mr. Murasaki Owl, I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight/Medium Weight) and a 3.50 mm crochet hook.  I used a small piece of yellow felt for the beak and I skipped the brads (used in the original Design as I did not have any on hand).

The pattern was very straightforward and I think even a beginner could make the owl – you may want to revisit how to do an invisible decrease – here is a link to the technique (photo/video for both left and right-handed Crocheters):

I hope you all had lovely weekends too 🙂
