With more than 144-pages and a plethora (yes I’ve always wanted to use that word in a blog post!) of patterns to try, Mosaic Magic Afghans Made Easy is a great resource to have in your crochet book collection.

Mosaic crochet starts with rows of single crochet stitches and then add’s the design and color for the project by crocheting longer stitches into the lower already completed rows of stitches located below. The best part is – each row is only worked in one-color!

By working these ‘drop stitches’ vertically and diagonally you can create different textures and designs easily.

These crochet patterns are written in US Crochet Terms. Assembly diagrams are provided for the patterns where afghan blocks are assembled. Special Pattern stitches are explained at the beginning of individual patterns and special notes are in italics.

Stitch Guide

The Stitch Guide is included in the General Directions section of the eBook, beginning on page 138. A special note is included for Left-Handed Crocheters and then the following stitches and techniques are included:

• Holding the hook, holding the yarn, working together, gauge;
• Slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, triple crochet;
• Assembly, joining yarn, fastening off, front post dc (FPdc);
• Afghan Stitch
• Fringe and tassels.
• Unique Double Crochets, Long Double Crochets, Front Post Double Crochet are found on page 145.

Each of the stitches and techniques is illustrated and explained in full.
