The Morning Glory Crochet Hat Pattern is a quick-to-crochet project that you can make with 1 skein of Bulky Weight Yarn and a 6 mm (J) hook.
Happy Friday Crocheters! I recently received a box filled with goodies (by this I mean filled with yarn!) from King Cole. I’m super excited to share with you that I am going to be working with their yarns this year to bring you some great new patterns!
I’m really looking forward to this partnership because I have never tried any of their yarns. Each ball of yarn is like a new adventure for me. Bonus for you is that I will be designing even more crochet patterns for you to make this year!
The first yarn I chose to work with from my box of yarnie goodness is King Cole Autumn Chunky. This beautiful multi-tonal roving yarn is a blend of Premium Acrylic (80%) and Wool (20%). It is perfectly suited to warm and soft hats like the pattern I created below.
For this project you will need 1 skein of King Cole Autumn Chunky Yarn and a 6 mm (J) hook. The color I used is called Morning Dew (shade: 5253) but there are 7 other great yarn shades also available. The color is vibrant and jewel-like and the yarn was soft and easy to work with.
King Cole Autumn Chunky is a brand-new yarn that became available internationally as of September 6th.
As I was working with the yarn all I could think about was my Gramps’ morning glories that he always had climbing up the lattice work in the small garden by their pool. He loved those flowers and their vibrant purple color.
When it came to naming this hat, all I could think of were those morning glories, so I took that as a sign that this hat would be named based on those happy summertime memories of Gramps and his brilliant purple / blue morning glory flowers.
