The instructions are provided in clearly written terms with each pattern providing the age range, as well as, finished size(s) of the project. The yarn weights used range from Fingering to Worsted Weight. The specific brand(s) of yarn have not been provided in the instructions so you will need to substitute based on the yarn weights alone and do a gauge swatch to determine if the yarn you have selected will work well with the design.
Most of the projects are Easy Skill Level Patterns; 6 are Intermediate Level Patterns and 1 is an Experienced Level Pattern. Charts have been provided where needed; the remainder of the information is provided in written format.
Knitting Basics have been provided at the end of the book. Examples of the basic stitches, with diagrams have been included. You will find instructions to explain how to do the following:
- knit
- purl
- garter stitch
- stockinette stitch
- slip stitch
- knit in the row below
- decreasing, increasing and shaping
- two colored knitting
- finishing (Kitchener Stitch, I-cord)
The Abbreviations, Yarn Weight Information Chart and Metric Conversion Chart have also been provided.
The 27-designs included are perfect for babies and toddlers, as well as, children. I love how there are numerous sizes provided for each design and something for both girls and boys. As well as being adorable, these designs are also functional and practical for little ones to wear and play in.
