Easy Halloween Crochet: Happy Little Monster Pattern
My Happy Little Halloween Monster was designed using Medium Worsted Weight Yarn and a 4 mm (G) crochet hook. I chose Red Heart Granny Square yarn because I love being able to use multiple colors and when I can get them all in one ball of yarn it is makes for a super affordable project! With one ball of this yarn you can make 5 little monsters.

Notes:
- This project is worked in continuous rounds without slip stitch joins unless noted in the pattern. Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round to keep track of your place.
- I began the head and the body with the first color yarn in my Granny Square skein which was the purple color.
- When I’m making amigurumi in rounds, I use an invisible decrease instead of a regular sc2tog. You can see this method demonstrated here. You may make a regular sc2tog if you prefer.
- For slightly larger legs chain 5 (instead of 4).

Place your eyes between Rnd 4 and 6 with 4 stitches (holes) between the posts of the safety eyes. See IMAGE 1 in the Finishing Instructions section at the end of the pattern for an image.

Monster Body Pattern
The Monster Body is crocheted in continuous rounds.
Using your 4 mm (G) crochet hook (or size required for gauge):
TIP: I used the same color to start the Monster Body as I did to start the Monster Head. I wound the color between (mine was black) into a small ball and used it later for the arms, horns and legs.

Finish off leaving a 8 to 10 inch yarn tail for closing the head. Weave the yarn tail through the last round of stitches and cinch to tighten. See this tutorial for help.
Put the body aside and proceed to the Monster Horns pattern below.

Rnd 1: DMR, 5 sc. [5 sc]

Monster Legs Pattern

The monster legs are crocheted in continuous rounds, beginning with a foundation chain.
Using your 4 mm (G) crochet hook (or size required for gauge):
Rnd 1: Ch 4, sk 1 ch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 chs, rotate the project to continue crocheting along the bottom edge of the foundation chain, 1 sc in each of the next 3 chs. [6 sc]
Rnd 2 – Rnd 4: 1 sc in each st around. [6 sc]
Finish off leaving a 6 inch yarn tail for sewing the legs to the finished monster.
Proceed to Finishing Instructions.
Finishing Instructions:
- Sew the head to the body using the yarn end left over from the Monster Body. Work around the posts of the stitches from Rnd 10 of the Monster Head and Rnd 14 of the Monster Body.
- Fold the horns and sew the horns along the side edge, do not finish off, use the yarn end to sew the horns to the body. See the photo below for assistance.
- Sew the arms and legs on the monster body. I worked around the stitches of the last round of each (I did not flatten them and sew them down). This gives them a bit more shape. I did not stuff the arms or the legs, I did leave the remaining yarn end from the DMR inside the arms and legs.
- Sew a mouth on your Monster’s face and weave the ends inside the monster’s head. Do not pull too tightly when doing this because it will cause the mouth to pucker.
- Weave any remaining ends inside the monster.
