Ornament Toppers for your Christmas Tree
Bring the spirit of Christmas into your home with these whimsical Ornament Toppers which will delight both children and adults alike.
The written instructions are detailed and include illustrations to help you with the finishing of your ornament toppers. Each pattern is listed as an Intermediate Level project. The patterns each require Size 10 Cotton Crochet Thread and a 2.25 mm (B) crochet hook.
The patterns included are:
- Snowman.
- Toy Soldier.
- Gingerbread Man.
- Angel.
- Elf.
- PJ Patty.
- Teddy Bear.
- Rudolph.
- Mr. Claus.
- Mrs. Claus.
- Slumber Sam.
- Polar Penguin.
It is difficult to choose just one favorite from this collection. I personally adore Mr. Claus and I also really like the Snowman.
PJ Patty and Slumber Sam make me think of my two children, who would be thrilled if I crocheted ornaments for the tree that resembled them. I’d have to change the hair colors and then call them “Darling Darla” and “Adorable Andrew” ornaments!
If it was up to them though, they would need me to make the Elf. They are absolutely obsessed with our Elf on the Shelf. His name is Fred and the countdown to his arrival has begun. They have informed me that the Elf is their most favorite part of Christmas. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about that!
Other supplies you need for these designs include:
- 2 3/8″ or 2 1/2″ round ornament
- glue gun
- white glue and water mixture
- wire hangers
- embellishments
- embroidery floss
- fiberfill
- paint brush
The Assembly Instructions are included on page 1 and include details on how to attach the toppers to the ornaments (glue gun method) and how to stiffen the crocheted topper with a mixture of glue and water.

Well now, this is different than anything else I’ve seen. Who would have thought to crochet toppers on ornament balls. I love them and the idea! I love how you detail in your review attaching the toppers and the required items.
This is a great idea. I love to do arigurumi and this fits right in. love to redo some of my old ornaments.
These are so cute!
This is such a nice idea for a gift for children. If there is more than one child in a family you could make each kid a different one.
They appear very straightforward although you will be working with threads so if that is something you aren’t used to they may be a bit challenging at first 🙂
Adorable! Are they hard to make?
I will try and make some of these for next Christmas, I wish I had more time and more hands to crochet all the things I want to make!
What a fantastic idea and great way to use up some of my older ornaments that I no longer use!!!!
These toppers are adorable!! I love all of the designs
The book sounds great. I love making toppers.
Oh, these are adorable. So many variations one could do with them too. Thanks!
These are really cute. I would have to start in January though as I am so slow with my crochet.
Cute idea
They look cute. I have the book on my list to get.
Love these ornament toppers!!! Wish the book included a Grinch one.
I love the crocheted snowflakes book.
Lovely and fun designs!
I’ve actually been making ornament covers this year & really enjoying them. This book has some really cute additional ideas with lots more detail. I think they make great hostess gifts or thank you gifts.
