Learn Embossed Crochet

Do you love the look of knit cables and cable leaves? Learn Embossed Crochet includes straightforward instructions to teach you how to mimic the look of knit cables using front and back post stitches.

Designer Lianka Azulay provides written patterns for 10 beautiful projects using embossed crochet. Patterns are included for blankets, hats, vests, scarves and cowls.

The projects included are:

  • Leaves Hat. Skill: Intermediate. Size: Adult woman. Medium Weight [4] and 5 mm (H) Crochet Hook
  • Leaves Purse. Skill: Intermediate. Size: 16 inches by 16 inches (excluding handles).  Medium Weight [4] and 5 mm (H) Crochet Hook
  • Leaves Scarf. Skill: Intermediate. Size: 5.5 inches by 45 inches.  Medium Weight [4] and 5.5 mm (I) Crochet Hook

  • Daisy Blanket.  Skill: Intermediate. Size: 40 inches by 48 inches.  Medium Weight [4] and 5.5 mm (I) Crochet Hook
  • Garden Handbag.  Skill: Intermediate. Size: 16 inches by 16 inches.  Medium Weight [4] and 5 mm (H) and 5.5 mm (I) Crochet Hook

Yarn Used

Each project has been crocheted using either medium weight [4] yarn, light weight [3] yarn or size 3 crochet thread. Placement diagrams have been included to help you assemble the finished squares and hexagons.

The handles for the purses are beautiful and additional photos have been provided to assist you with making them.

Any special stitches used have been listed with written instructions at the beginning of the pattern. Some special stitches include v-stitch, front post double crochet decrease and back post double crochet decrease.
