Kitty Cat Afghan Pattern
This month, Carol Hegar from Shady Lane Original Crochet Designs has given us a copy of her Kitty Cat Afghan ePattern to review and a second copy to giveaway to one of my lucky readers!
This 9-page ePattern includes crochet instructions to make both baby and child size afghans using Medium (Worsted) Weight Yarn [4].
These afghans are crocheted using simple stitches: single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), double crochet cluster (dcCL) and slip stitches (sl st). You will find the full abbreviations list and instructions on how the dcCL stitch is crocheted on page 2 of the pattern.
The kitty cat design is created by crocheting dc stitches into the remaining front loop of the stitch made 2 rows before. It is super easy-to-do and the finished afghans look fantastic! To learn how to do the easy dropped dc method, Carol has prepared a helpful video tutorial here.

- Baby Afghan | 28 oz of Medium (Worsted) Weight Yarn [4] | 4 mm (G) hook | Size: 37.25 inches X 41.5 inches in size
- Child Afghan | 34 oz of Medium (Worsted) Weight Yarn [4] | 5.5 mm (I) hook | Size: 42.5 inches X 47.5 inches in size
The ePattern includes both written instructions (in U.S. Crochet Terms) and an optional graph for the afghan.
