Crochet Tips for Working with Faux Fur Yarn
Have you ever tried using Faux Fur Yarn? Here are some tips to get your started!
When working with faux fur yarns, the fur obstructs your view of the stitches but that doesn’t make it impossible to use. In fact, I think it makes it even easier to use and I’ll tell you why: the fur doesn’t just hide stitches, it hides everything – including mistakes! You can throw perfectionism out the window while you’re learning work with this type of yarn.
Because you cannot see your stitches, you have to feel for them. Take a look at something you’ve crocheted using a smooth yarn and locate the tops of your stitches. Under the top two loops of each stitch is a small gap or hole in the fabric where you typically place your hook to work a standard stitch. When using fur yarn, you use your finger tips to find those spaces so you know where to place your hook.
