I hope you all had a lovely Holiday/Merry Christmas!

Here is a simple and very quick headband to make – I’ve included instructions for all sizes – and you can use any embellishment you wish – I have used my Holiday Bow Pattern to embellish Darla’s as we still have a few Holiday parties to attend this year –

You could make this headband in different colours for any season – or for regular wear!

With Darla growing her hair out and the hard headbands pinching her head behind her ears – these are the current headband of choice in our house.

I used Bernat Berella “4” from my stash (worsted weight yarn) and a 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook. Darla’s headband took less than hour to make, from start to finish (including the embellishment).

Holiday Headband Instructions:

5.5 mm (I) crochet hook
Worsted Weight Yarn

Abbreviations

Fsc – foundation single crochet
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet

R1: 6 Fsc, ch 1, 1 hdc in the 3rd stitch from the hook, skip 1 stitch, (1 sc & 1 hdc) in the next stitch, skip 1 stitch, 1 sc in the last stitch, ch 2, turn

R2: 1 hdc in the 1st sc, skip the hdc, (1 sc & 1 hdc) in the next sc, 1 sc in the last hdc, ch 2, turn

R3-desired length: repeat R2, finish off and use an invisible join or whip stitch to sew the headband together I attach the embellishment over the seam.
