Last year messy bun hats popped up on the crochet scene and became super popular in winter fashion. This year I’ve already seen people wearing their messy bun hats in Kitchener-Waterloo. I hope you enjoy this Messy Bun Hat Pattern Collection! These are all free patterns and perfect for Fall! So get crocheting 🙂
In case you have customers asking you to make them messy bun hats – or if you want to make them as gifts for your family and friends I’ve located a handful of new patterns designed along this winter theme.
I have to admit when I was in University and I had long hair I always had a messy bun going on – and when the cold weather hit I automatically slammed a toque on my head without thinking and the messy bun caused a horrid lump in the back of my hat. I never really thought about it because – it was cold! but when I went to wear my hat later it was always stretched out and misshapen because of that messy bun. So I believe I would also be sporting a Messy Bun / Ponytail Hat his year, if my hair was still long!
Last year I released 2 Free Patterns for Messy Bun Hats / Ponytail Hats too – one for if you wear it at the crown of your head (top) and one for if you wear it near the middle of your head (back) or nape of your neck. Which is where I wore mine – at the nape of my neck….Here are those links if you are interested:

Hi Linda, The Messy Bun Hats Post is a “Round Up” post where I featured other Designer’s patterns which are available online to the readers of my blog. Under the image you will find the link to their individual patterns by clicking on the title beside the number. So if you wanted hat 1 you would click on the title beside Hat 1 beneath the collage image. This will take you directly to the other free pattern and you would then be able to print it or save it as a PDF on your own computer from their site. If they do not have PrintFriendly installed like me you can simply take the URL of their post (the link to their post) and paste it in the field on PrintFriendly where it says “Copy and Paste URL” and PrintFriendly will make you a PDF or allow you to print their pattern. The direct link to PrintFriendly (if you do not have the extension on your Browser Bar) is: https://www.printfriendly.com/ One thing I should mention is that if you are trying to use PrintFriendly on a blogger’s site and you have your pop-up blocker enabled on your browser you may be blocking the plugin from working. So check your address bar (the bar at the top of the browser where the internet URL or address is showing) to see if you have an icon on the right side – if there is something being blocked due to your setting on your browser there should be an icon there you can click on and it will ask you if you want to allow PrintFriendly to open one time (or always) and you can choose and then use the Plugin. Hope this helps! Rhondda
Everything I have seen that I’d like to print the pattern for – I find I am unable to access it. Don’t understand what is wrong. Whether it’s a little Christmas decoration or a pattern. Liked the Messy Bun Hats but cant get a pattern to print. HELP
