Hatch, A Unique Shopping Experience

I recently discovered Hatch.

Hatch is a Marketplace offering hand selected items from Designers, Artisans and Makers.

These quality items can be customized to create a finished product both unique and personal for each shopper.

Hatch was named by Time Magazine as one of the Top 10 NYC Start-ups to Watch in 2014

 

I was fortunate to be able to try this experience for myself.

As part of the Hatch Affiliate Program I was able to select and customize an item of my choice.

I spent a few days visiting the site and browsing through their fantastic selection of merchandise.

There are many categories to choose from – jewellery, home decor, art, wedding items, and accessories (i.e. belt buckles, cuff links, wallets, gadget cases, etc.).

If you want to try the “Compass” tab, you can select how you want to personalize your project – by photo, date, location or image – and then “Compass” provides options you can use based on this choice.

For my product I decided to get something personal for myself. I have always loved the family rings and as I was browsing jewellery I found this Maker: The Copper Poppy

 

 

 

 

 

I had the pleasure of working with Alyssa to customize a bracelet for myself.

I chose this bracelet:

It was so easy to complete my purchase – I simply chose

1. the writing I wanted for the front of the bracelet
2. the secret text (on the inside of the bracelet) and
3. what type of material I wanted ((bronze or aluminum).

Then Alyssa (The Maker) contacted me to confirm the order could be made and I paid for the product and shipping.

Within 10-days I had the bracelet on  my wrist.

And…

here it is:

My bracelet arrived in a pretty little box

I chose my children’s names for the front text

and my husband and my initials and date of marriage for my secret text

I am very happy with the bracelet (I LOVE IT!) and the service I received from Alyssa, The Maker at The Copper Poppy.

Hatch is a very fun and unique place to shop .

I love unique gifts and the convenience of having the item delivered to my door is an added bonus.

I love being able to customize the gift for a special person, rather than just buying something ‘off the shelf’ which was mass produced.

When thought and care go into every product – it makes it so much more meaningful – and personal.
