Hi everyone! I’m Amy from The Stitchin’ Mommy and today I’m really excited to be doing this charity guest post for Oombawka Design!
This month’s featured organization is Hat Box Foundation. Hat Box Foundation is a volunteer-based non-profit organization that makes and distributes free handmade hats to those with cancer and others that are in need of a warm hat.
We believe something made from the heart can help heal the human spirit. With that in mind, each hat distributed through the foundation is 100% hand-knitted or crocheted by a group of volunteers across the country. Since each hat is made by hand, each hat is unique and offers that special ingredient of kindness. And because of the generous donations from our volunteers and sponsors, we are able to give the hats FREE of charge to the well-deserving recipients. As we expand our efforts across the US, we hope you will join us in our journey. – Hat Box Foundation
What is great is that the hats are all 100% made from volunteers and are distributed to men, women, and children of all ages.
What can I do?
Hat Box Foundation is always looking for volunteers to help with knit or crochet hats. With the holidays around the corner, I am sure they are looking for a lot of extra hats. You can find out more about how to volunteer here.
