20 quick and easy crochet projects

Granny Squares Weekend

Granny Squares Weekend is 144-pages in length and includes front and back flaps (which I love in my books because it holds my place so easily) and full color throughout.

You will find the table of Contents on page 7, an introduction to the Designer, Emma Varnam on page 8 and a photo gallery of all 20 granny square projects from page 10 to page 32.

The Getting Started section tells you what supplies you will need for the included projects. The Crochet Techniques section is in here too and begins on page 36. The Finishing Touches section starts on page 48.

The crochet patterns can be found from pages 56 to 136. Each of these projects can be made over the course of a weekend.

Which Granny Square project is your favorite?

I personally love the Festival Bag, the Chic Cushion and the Glasses Case. The granny stitch is a comforting stitch to me.

Granny Squares Weekend takes this easy granny stitch and gives you a bunch of quick projects to crochet. You will find 20 fun and practical gifts to make and enjoy the time used creating them.

This traditional stitch has been handed down for generations and used by our ancestors to create useful projects. There is a familiar comfort in using this stitch that is so well known and well loved the world round.

  1. I love this book, would love to make the bag shown on the cover. Thank you!

  2. I love them all, but I’d really like to make the Festival bag and Fingerless mittens.

  3. I love granny squares and this book looks like a winner. I would probably make all the patterns. Good Luck to All !!

  4. Hi Donna, you can visit daily for the free entry 🙂 I place that one there for anyone without social media. I also believe there is a comment option for an entry in the post? I try to be as inclusive as possible for these. Best wishes, Rhondda

  5. Thank you sooooo much for these magnificent patterns and bravo for the books! YES!!!

  6. I would love to make the Toy Blocks. Thank you for the opportunity to win this. I have made the pattern for the pillow from another book over 20 years ago. I made a blanket from the pattern and everyone loved the diamond look it gives the finished project. My oldest son still has the blanket. And I made a dear friend one in a different color scheme at the same time and she keeps it on her bed to this day.

  7. I wish I could enter to win the Granny Squares Weekend, but I cannot. I don’t do social media sites as they can create too many problems for me. It’s a shame that those of us who don’t use social media sites get left out of the events. Good luck with your ventures. I will continue to check out your blog and participate and get your patterns as allowed. I do participate in your Scarf & Hat of the Month series. Thank you. Donna S

  8. I’d like to make the chic cushion. It’s very cute yet sophisticated.

  9. I’d love to make the fingerless mitts. Looks like a wonderful book!
