Gender Neutral Hat Pattern Oombawka Crochet

Gender Neutral Hat Pattern OombawkaDesignCrochet

This great gender neutral hat pattern is available in sizes baby to adult large. This easy crochet hat pattern works up quickly. You will need Medium Weight Yarn [4] and a 5.5 mm (I) hook.

Simple crochet stitches are used for this project. You will need to know the loops of the stitch because we crochet in the back loop (BL) for this project. The final round is crocheted with back post single crochet (BPsc).

I think this pattern will work wonderfully for your hat donation projects and as gifts.

The full written pattern is available for free below.

Also available is the Gender Neutral Ear Warmer Pattern.

Notes:

  • Stitch multiple: 1 (Understanding Stitch Multiples)
  • The turning ch-1 does not count as a stitch.
  • The sl st does not count as a stitch.
  • Make your sl st tightly.
  • You may customize the hat height by working the repeat as many, or as few, times as you wish. Every 4 rounds you add with the stitch pattern, will add approximately 1 inch of height to the hat.
  • I use an invisible join to finish off my final round of stitches, you may substitute a sl st to join if you prefer.
  • I use a DMR (double magic ring) to begin my projects that are worked in the round. You may substitute a magic ring (magic circle), or a chain 3 and slip to form a ring.
