Before having children I loved lighting candles and displaying them around the house. There is just something calming about the gently flickering lights…Now I just make-do with the artificial, battery operated variety…not quite the same but much safer…Safer for Darla and Drew but not so safe for the lovely glass, porcelain and very breakable candle holders that I normally put those safe battery operated candles inside!
Here is my Holiday Solution – rather than just place the little candles all around without any sort of decoration I created this very quick and very easy crochet embellishment for them.
This fun and easy Crochet Christmas Decoration can be used in 3 Ways – which makes it one of my favorite embellishments during the Holiday Season! You can make this as a candle holder. You can make this as a Christmas Tree Decoration or Christmas Ornament – you can even add a little bell to make it jingle! You can also make it and wear it as a Christmas Brooch! Or you can do all three!
My favorite way to gift this is by using it as a pretty embellishment / bow on Gifts and then providing a different option (brooch back/safety pin, ribbon for hanging, or battery operated candle) depending on who I am giving the gift to!
How will you use this project? Totally up to you 🙂 I’ve included charted instructions at the end of the post and written instructions too.
Happy Holidays!

This was initially designed to fit around the base of the battery operated candle – but there are many other uses for it – just by changing yarn colours, assembly and embellishments…
For example you can use it as a Christmas Ornament:
Or a brooch:
Or you can use the bow by itself to embellish items like hair clips, hair bands…as a tree decoration…you are only limited by your imagination…
