I recently stumbled upon this great site:

Where to find Free Fonts online

You can choose from many different fonts, frames and even logos – some are public domain and some are for personal use only and some request donations.

The way I like to search for free fonts is by using this somewhat ‘hidden’ feature:

Step 1:

Select “New Fonts” – this is located on the top-left side of the screen by the dafont.com logo.

Step 2:

Select “More Options”

Step 3:

Select the options of your choice – my preferences are “public domain”, “free” and “free for personal use”

One of my favourite Font Designers is Kimberly Geswein.
She has 246 free fonts available on DaFont.com.
Note: KG Fonts are for personal use only.
But don’t worry!
If you like one of Kimberly’s free fonts and you want to use it for commercial purposes, she has a fabulous commercial license rate for fonts – for small businesses – including a one-time commercial license fee for all of her fonts.
If you want to download all of Kimberley’s free fonts in one complete package – she even has this available:
Kimberly also has some great tutorials on her site – one of which helps you with font installs.
Here are some of my favourite KG Fonts:
She has some fantastic Frames too!
Have fun looking at free fonts 🙂

Happy crocheting!

  1. Hi Sandy 🙂 Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂 You made me smile – and made me think of how I hoard yarn! Rhondda

  2. Popping in from SITS. Dafont is one of my favorite spots to visit online. I digital scrapbook and love mixing up fonts on new pages. Clever tip. I wasn't aware you could do that. TFS! 🙂

  3. I love fonts! I horde them like a squirrel hordes nuts. Thanks for feeding my addiction!
