I have a whole bunch of New Year’s Resolutions this year and I’m proud to say – nearing the end of month 2 – so far I’m doing pretty good! I’ve been adding some Super Foods to my meals, I’ve been walking 3-5 times a week, I haven’t purchased any yarn this year (so far!!) and I have successfully completed 2 of our #CALOFTHEMONTH2017 projects!

I forgot how much I love to just crochet. Designing is fun – I totally love what I do 🙂 but to be able to sit down and follow someone else’s instructions – to make something fun and pretty and learn new stitches or techniques – is so rewarding and rejuvenating! I’m really enjoying my ‘forced New Year’s Resolution’ adventure this year and I can’t wait to begin our March Project!

For our February Crochet Along we chose to make a Scarf and this was the project:

I really enjoyed crocheting this design – I have never tried a braided section in a pattern before and I honestly did not know what to expect. I totally loved how easy it was to get the braided look and how we used 3 stitch patterns to create the braid – instead of just the puff stitches.

I chose not to use buttons for my project even though I had them picked out and ready to attach! I have actually claimed this scarf for myself – I have a thing for purple (if you hadn’t noticed) and I fell in love with how this project came together.

The only changes I made were out of necessity – I…ahem…ran out of yarn! and I only edged the three sections of the braid. The remainder of the scarf does not have an official single crochet edging.
