This month our Featured Charity, Halos of Hope, is being presented by Drew Emborsky, aka The Crochet Dude.

Please read on to learn more about Halos of Hope and how we can help.

If you are unable to help personally, please share this with your friends online – you never know – you may reach someone who is able to make a difference locally! If you would like to contribute too, we encourage you to crochet the featured free pattern this month and donate it to important cause near and dear to you.  ♥ Rhondda

Crochet and Donate Halos of Hope Featured Charity of the Month 2017

I became involved with Halos of Hope a few years ago when I was teaching on the national circuit. I was immediately smitten with the founder Pam Haschke and her story of surviving cancer. The way she then dedicated herself to providing comfort for others that are fighting for their lives enduring cancer treatments is undeniably inspirational.

It seems like such a small thing, a squishy soft hat that you can crochet in an evening – but the impact on someone that is under treatment is immeasurable. It could provide them with their first comfortable night’s sleep, or walk out in public with their head held high.

I like how Halos of Hope is dedicated to helping locally as much as possible – their hats go to over 450 different cancer centers nationwide! And what’s great is that not only is crochet welcomed but also knit, sewn, loom, and machine knitted are too!

Here is a link to one of my FREE crochet hat designs so you can join in and help provide comfort too!!

How We Can Help!

There are a number of ways we can help Halos of Hope. From donating caps to donating funds to help cover the cost of shipping the hats to those in need. Included below are some helpful links you can follow to provide donations and support to Halos of Hope.

Donate Caps! Read their Cap guidelines HERE.  Information is included about yarn and fiber choices, sizes and styles and types of hats and head covers they would love to receive. Donations are accepted year-round and for multiple purposes (like sleep-caps and hats to wear outside).

You can also help by donating toward the cost of shipping the hats to those in need:

Donate! (just $1 sends 3 hats!)

Keep it local, find an Angel Ambassador near you! Local Angel Ambassadors work within specific geographical locations to coordinate and assist in the promotion, collection and delivery arrangements of caps and hats within their community. Find a local Angel Ambassador to work with here:  http://halosofhope.org/ambassadors/
