Finished Measurements

Rectangle Measurements:

Width: 13.5 inches
Length: 27 inches (remember you stop at the length – 1 inch; at 26 inches!)

Gauge:

3 sts / inch using a 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart Soft, Worsted Weight Yarn.

2.75 sts / inch using a 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart with Love, Worsted Weight Yarn.

US Terminology used

BPdc – back post double crochet

beg – beginning

ch – chain

CL – cluster

dc – double crochet

FPdc – front post double crochet

hdc – half double crochet

RS – right side

sc – single crochet

sc2tog – single crochet two stitches together

R1: Ch 38 (Ch 40)

R2 (RS): Beg in 2nd ch from the hook and work 1 sc in each st across, ch 1, turn [37, 39]

R3: *1 sc in the next st, 1 sc picot st in the next st**. Repeat from * to ** across to the last st. (NOTE: be sure to push the picot stitches through to the RS of your work) 1 sc in the last st, ch 1, turn [37, 39]

R4: 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each remaining st across, ch 1, turn [38, 40]

R5: 1 sc in each st across, changing colour on the last yarn over of the last st, ch 3, turn [38, 40]

The ch-2 at the end of Row 37-39 counts as a sc and a ch-1.

R42: sc2tog, 1 sc in each remaining st across, ch 1, turn [37, 39]

R43: *1 sc in the next st, 1 sc picot st in the next st**. Repeat from * to ** across to the last st. (NOTE: be sure to push the picot stitches through to the RS of your work) 1 sc in the last st, ch 1, turn [37, 39]

Repeat Parts 2-8 until you have reached: 27 inches- 1 inch = 26 inches

It is possible to reach this length before you repeat all of the parts and this is ok.

You may even need to end in the middle of a Part AND this is ok too!

You need to complete 2 rectangles of the same size.

Once you have made 2 rectangles of the same size proceed to Part 9.
