If you love crochet projects you can pick up anytime and keep working without thinking too hard, this one is for you. My Endless Comfort Blanket Square is a relaxing square pattern with a simple repeat that’s easy to memorize and fun to keep stitching.
You can crochet it as a 6-inch square or a 12-inch square, or keep going to make a square blanket in any size. This makes it a great option for scrap yarn projects, baby blankets, lapghans, and full-sized afghans.

A Simple 2-Round Repeat Square That’s Easy to Memorize
This design uses a 2-round repeat, so once you’ve worked the first few rounds, you’ll be able to crochet the square without constantly checking the instructions. The stitch pattern creates a soft texture with a cozy look and a comfortable drape—perfect for blankets.
I’ve also included round-by-round photos to make it easy to follow along.

Tips for the Best Results
Here are a few quick tips before you get started:

Crocheters Often Ask
Yes! You can keep repeating the rounds to grow the square into a full square blanket in any size.
Any medium/worsted weight (#4) yarn will work. Different yarns will change the finished size slightly, so check measurements as you go.
Blocking is optional, but it can help the square lay flatter and give you straighter edges—especially if you plan to join multiple squares.
No — it uses a simple repeat and is easy to memorize, especially with the included round-by-round photos.

Notes:
- Ch 3 counts as 1 dc.
- Sl st to join is made in the first st of the round.
- If you are making this in a solid color (or using variegated yarn) see the Alternate Turning Method Tutorial at the end of the pattern.
- I changed colors at the end of each round. I finished off at the end of each round, turned my work and then joined a new color of yarn using a sl st join in the first ch1sp (the one beside your slip stitch join). You may carry your yarn or use an alternate method to change colors if you prefer.
- From Rnd 3 to Rnd 9, skip all stitches not mentioned.
- To make this endless blanket square larger, work more repeat rounds.
- For a 6 inch square work until you’ve completed Round 5, then with the RS facing work Round 10.
