We’ve all heard the horror stories of bloggers losing access to their blog and their data because of an infraction on their accounts…whether it was in an intentional or unintentional mistake is something you would need to prove to the powers that be…but always take steps to secure your data –
It is a very simple process really – you will be happily surprised by how easy it is to backup your Blogger Blog.
(the images below are ‘clickable’ so you can make them bigger!)
Click Create Archive if you want to download an archive from all your services. If you only want specific files to download click Choose services from the top bar.
If you click Choose services you will see this screen where you can click on the icons to pick and choose your services to archive.
Once you have chosen your services click Create Archive to get to the next screen – which will show either All of your data if you created your archive with all the options, or only those options you selected under Choose services.
Step 2.
You will see this screen, where your data begins to load (it says starting in the top-right corner). You can choose to have an email sent to you when your download is ready or you can wait – it doesn’t take very long if you haven’t been blogging very long 😉 For me it takes approximately a minute…
Once the download is ready the word starting in the top-right changes to complete.
Click Download in the bottom-right corner.
Step 3.
You will be asked to verify your password and then you will be popped back into the Download screen where your download will begin automatically (no need to click Download again!!).
You have just backed up all the data for your blog (or the data you selected).
The next part of the backup process you need to complete is to back-up your template for your blog (how your information appears visually on your blog).
