16 weird and wonderful amigurumi patterns
Curious Crochet Creatures
Curious Crochet Creatures includes 16 amazing amigurumi patterns for weird and wonderful creatures you can find living in our world.
This amigurumi pattern book is filled with colorful images and fun facts about each of the 16 animals featured in the book.
Curious Crochet Creatures is 128-pages in length. The amigurumi patterns are clearly written and the instructions are in U.S. Crochet terminology. Helpful step-by-step images are included for every project. The stitch counts are included at the end of the pattern rounds, inside [parentheses].
The book begins with the table of contents. The Introduction, How to Use This Book and Tools and Materials sections come first. The projects are next and are arranged into three separate categories: Remarkable Mammals, Surreal Sea Life and Bizarre Birds & Irregular Reptiles. After the patterns, you will find a detailed Crochet Techniques section (filled with diagrams and written instructions) and an Assembly Techniques section. The About the Author, Acknowledgements and complete Index can be found at the conclusion of the book.
Pages 6 through 9 outline How to Use This Book and the Tools and Materials necessary to complete the projects. You will find more information about the following:
- how to use this book: how to read the patterns, pattern abbreviations and crochet terminology
- tools and materials: yarn, hooks, tension (gauge), tension swatch, and other tools and materials (toy safety eyes, fabric stabilizer, toy stuffing, wires, sewing pins and clips, stitch markers & wire brush)
Before the written pattern for each Curious Crochet Creature, you will find an introduction to the creature (which I love!). Fun facts and details about what makes the creature extraordinary are included, as well as, details about it’s habitat and meal preferences.
The patterns range in difficultly from quick beginner projects to more complex and detailed creatures. You will find the difficulty level shown in a colored tab, at the top of the first page for each creature’s pattern. The difficulty ratings range from 🌀 (beginner) to 🌀🌀🌀🌀 (advanced).
